Of the gaysand lesbians I know of, many are in long-term committed relationships and they are not really the bar type. There's, actually, a pretty large LGBT community in the Wichita area. You might contact these groups for more info about how the business community and city respond to requests for space. I think they're also the ones who do the lion's share of the Pride parade and festival. There's also a Wichita Pride organization that has a website. There are businesses who support the gay community through advertising there monthly. I think they also have an online edition. It's distributed free around the city and is expecially easy to find at Borders bookstore. Most businesses don't want to publically admit they're gay-friendly even if they are. KEC, at least in Wichita, was trying to put together a directory of gay friendly businesses, but hasn't had much luck. Kansas, actually, has nine chapters of the Kansas Equality Coalition in various degrees of activity.
